When will by stomach muscles stop hurting after doing sit-ups every day?

I just starting doing sit-ups on a daily basis about two weeks ago and my abs are all sore.. How long should it take for the pain to go away?

Answer #1

Give it another week or two..your body is out of shape and not used to the exercising. It will eventually stop being sore for so long after a while. Maybe give your body a day to relax.

Answer #2

the pain wont go away until you let them recover,, when i workout my abs i do 230 sit ups on a medicine ball, and do 2 other workouts for them, and it only takes 2 days max to recover

Answer #3

So I have to take a break for a couple days? Doesn’t the pain mean that the workout it starting to take effect?

Answer #4

yea, thats exactly what it means, but if you keep working the same muscles without letting them recover, it can actually do damage… its like a cut, u have to let it heal before you notice it getting better right? but if you pick at it it gets worse

Answer #8

after a few weeks you should stop hurting all together..you might need a rest. like every other day or every 3 days.

Answer #9

It takes like 2-3 weeks, just so they get used to it, it took me 2 weeks, but the pain came back, but then it left. Just make sure you don’t stop for a long period of time and then start again, because the pain will start again, it’s like starting all over.

Answer #10

A muscle needs 72 hours of rest before being trained again. That’s the golden time in bodybuilding standards.
