Will doing sit-ups get me a flatter stomach?

People say that I’m really petite, but I hate my stomach! It’s bulgy and out of shape and to me, I look fat. I’m trying to eat healthier and cut back on the sweets and soda (soda is like my lifeline. lol), and I am trying not to eat as much as I used to. I am seeing a bit of improvement, but I want fantastic results. Will doing sit-ups every day help?

Yes sit ups will give you a flatter stomach, but not if there is a layer of fat over your stomach! In fact, doing sit ups and building muscle can actually make your stomach look bigger if you have fat around it. So, eat healthy, drink TONS of water ,exercise your whole body (aerobics,pilates)and when you have less fat around your stomach, do sit ups and you will get a flatter stomach!

Yes they will. They’ll tighten the muscles in your stomach.

@alkane doing sit ups too quick does make you want to puke , I just did 100 a few minutes ago & I did them too quick & it made me feel dizzy & sick , so yeah its true.

Sit-ups will work, as well as crunches. Others may be able to add to this list. Sorry, that’s all I’ve got. {=

My (idiot) PE teacher said in PE the other day that doing too many too quick can make you feel sick or even puke!

I don’t know how true this is, and remember he is an idiot!

Yep if you continuously do sit ups then your stomach would gradually become flatter than it was before. I know because it worked for me..ever since I stopped my tummy grew bigger..so I’m trying to get back in shape again =/ Good luck to you! =D
