What is bad about exercising every day?

I’ve been trying to loose weight so I’ve been dieting and I exercise everyday. I keep getting told that I should skip exercising like 2 days a week. Is it bad to exercise every day? Should I skip it a coulple days a week?

I play football, and in my experience lifting weights everyday and running everyday is fine only if you are working out different muscle groups every other day. For example, work upper body one day and lower body on the next day and go back and forth. But if you are starting out I recommend not lifting weights everyday though because your body is simply not used to it and needs time to heal or you will injure yourself. I have been lifting weights for years so everyday is fine because that is what the muscles and body is accustomed to. Running is still the best thing you can do though, at first it can be hard, but once you get going and can round that 3 to 5 mile mark in a few months you will be addicted to it.

Nothing bad happens to you, per se. Your muscles just don’t build up strength because when you work out, that soreness afterwards is from tearing your muscles, and then youre supposed to take a break from that muscle group for a day to allow it to repair and improve itself. I cant really explain it any better. You don’t have to stop working out everyday, exactly you just have to work out different muscle groups to allow the other ones to heal. For example, if you work out your chest one day work on your back the next then you legs another day. Don’t just work out the same group every single day, you know what I mean? ;D

your muscles dont get time to rest and repair themselves your body also doesnt have time to repair itself from things like sickness or bruising also if you exerscise too much you could become underweight and/or stop your period

You gain muscle and eat more. You may be goning a little hard on your body. If you cut back on eating, you are hurting yourself. The muscle is constantly stimulated, and you could slowly be killing yourself.

I exercise everyday and dont skip (unless im sick or something) and nothing has happened to me so I dont think that its bad to do it every day. if you need another opinion you could always go to google.com (im pretty sure they know everything) lol

You should because when you allow your muscles time to rest, that’s when the muscle repairs itself and getting bigger. If you just keep on exercising then youre damaging your muscles and not letting them heal.
