What do you think of my song?

Okay one of my top goals is to write lyrics for a melody and have it actually turn into a song. My boyfriend is amazing at the guitar so he’s writing the melody for my words :) But what do you think?

Stare in the mirror long enough to forget who I am Break all the pieces A reflection to end Create a visual peace of mind Show the world why we must not waste time Again and again I must face These disturbed visions, absent trace With persistent thoughts that cease to vanish All of which I prayed to vanish

Close your eyes Ride your voice of any lies Contaminated sights Will be damned to visit your dreams tonight ‘Cause they’re all learning the new ways To curse you with never ending days

On that day we struggled to meet again In that unknown place Which forced me to sin But that unending nightmare screamed me awake All thoughts aside it was more than I could take To bare arms of the shards that landed in my path Is to see the weakness escape from my grasp

I know it sounds more like a poem, but really, you can make any poem into a song :) I think it needs more lyrics but I will add some more later if needed. Tell me what you think. (:

It’s not emo :) I could actually put a happier melody to it, and if it was sung right then it wouldn’t sound bad :) But I’m still trying to find the perfect melody to fit with it (: Thanks though!

What genre of music ? Is it I mean the writing is good but It sounds Emo now don’t get me wrong I like sad music just not EMO but If your going for that you hit the spot. Good job =)
