Elliptical Trainer Routine!!!

I am male age 24. I am not looking to lose weight, just want to get my heart in shape. I am struggling to stay on the elliptical for more than 8 minutes. My goal is to be able to burn around 180 calories in 12 minutes. How can I go from zero to hero, and how long will it take. I’m just looking for a weekly work out schedule that will gradually increase my chance of accomplishing my goal.

Try putting on some fast music and concentrate on the music whilst on the elliptical trainer. This helps keep you motivated to carry on and not focus too much on feeling tired/in pain etc etc. Especially if after those 8 mins a really good song comes on, you wont want to get off and stop listening. And after that song another good song so you stay on, then another..you get my point. But the best way is to up your time weekly. If you do 8mins now, for example try 10mins next week. Then 12, then 15, then 18, then 20. Just slowly up it for a while, then once you reach 20 do this for 2 more sessions, after those 2 sessions you should be able to do this with more ease so try increasing it more to 30.
