Do i retake the year at the sixthform school i am transferring to?

Home More advice Education & School

Hey, so i have to transfer schools due to a move to england and i'm going to a school with a different exam board into year 13. [international edexcel to aqa] at this moment i havent got my As results but due to a mix up i missed one of the exams for maths so i havent got 4 grades anyway. I was wondering whether or not to retake the year or continue into year 13. As it is a different board and the time it took to learn how to answer questions tailoring to that board was basically the whole year [not to mentions there is some stuff on the course i haven't covered]. Also, i have to apply to uni and my teachers are not going to be able to help with my statement as much or give me predicted grades based on my overall performance. i dont even know if retaking the year would affect my application to uni, i am aiming for oxford to study physics.

im a good student with good gcse's [all a's and above] but i dont know what would be best to do at this stage and i did loose focus due to moving to another country for a levels and know having to move back. advice?
