How can I stop snacking when I'm not hungry?

ok. I started a diet since I gained 10 pounds.

so now I want to lose at least 20 pounds.

I know what to do. I need to count what I eat. im using the point system kinda right now. I am 5’ 2 and im eating about 17 points a day. is that a little enough to be able to lose weight???

anyway… I am so bad at the snacking part. ill see a carmel apple and tell myself “ok ill never get to eat one of these again. so ill jut have ONE bite..” then one turns into half of the apple… of 3/4 of it. NOT GOOD. or ill have just a handful of trail mix which turns into 5.

I don’t know how to plan out my meals. I hate eating in the day because I eat a lot at night too. I eat without thinking. and I don’t know how to stop that.

also… do I really hae to exercise to lose weight??? how much should I eat??? 17 points? 900 calories?

please help! also what is the most caloriec burning exercise??

Well, a lot of times people snack on things just because they are bored. Before you make a trip to the frige, ask yourself, “Am I really hungry?” If you are craving the taste of something but aren’t actually hungry to eat it, make a goal for yourself. For example, you could say, “If I go workout for a half an hour, I can eat this!” This way, you will not feel so guilty about eating pleasure foods, because if you try to just stop eating them, you will crave them more. As far as planing out your meals, if you go to school or work, it is hard to be able to stick to a certain diet if you have to eat food you are not making. Try to balance out your portions on your plate. Use a smaller plate so it looks like the same amount of food, but you really have less! Also, when you are putting food on your plate, aim for 1/2 fruits and veggies, 1/4 protein and 1/4 dairy. Try to mix up the kinds of proteins you eat too. If you have meat one day, try to have fish or chicken the next! Also, drinking cold water makes you less hungry, so if you really want something to snack on, drink a glass of ice water and then see how hungry you are. Hope this helped!

In your pictures you look too thin. And I don’t think anyone should try living on 900 calories. A McDonald’s Big Mac and a medium French Fries has 920 calories and that doesn’t count for the drink. A medium coke has another 210 calories. Now you can see why so many people are obese.

chewing gum works great, also drink water, it will keep you occupied but also make you more healthy. STAY AWAY FROM SUGAR, no candy, eat the apple just not the carmel apple, drink milk instead of soda, no fries or shakes. big thing though, if you stay busy doing anything, shopping or school or hanging at someones house, you wont eat…

Snack on carrot sticks and other salad items or vegetables and fruit, though veg is better than fruit, and drink some water too. Make sure you’re main meal fills you up but with low fat healthy food. And it is will power. Not easy but worth the end result.

Answer #7

hey

maybe you should try snacking on more healthy stuff… or chew bubblegum, it usually helps for me to keep my jaws busy!! lollypops also work. And eat enough during your big meals so you dont get hungry in between. And then its just self control!! :)

A good calorie burning excercise is cycling, rowing, jogging or dancing - you can also go to the gym and ask a PT for advice, they can work out something that suits your body and your likes and dislikes. Remember to try and make exercise fun, otherwise you’re not going to persue… hehe
