How to convince my dad to let me date him?!

Okay, so I’m going to be a junior and last year I moved in with my dad. He is extremely strict and I met this kid who’s amazing but he graduated. He’s staying in the area though for college. We really, really love eachother. My mom approves of him and loves him and his family (parents are divorced) I tell her everything about him. I’ve been seeing him for about 6 months. But the thing is… My dad refuses to let me talk to him or even date him even though he’s met him and says he is a good kid! He think’s just because he’s going into college he is too old for me even though he’s only one year older than me… He won’t listen to anything I have to say about him & I hate having to go behind his back about him. I just don’t know what to do, because the boy is extremely good for me. He keeps me out of trouble and he’s just a great person. My dad just doesn’t understand that, he assumes all boys just care about sex and doesn’t even care about what I have to say.
