how can my girlfriend dad let us date then sign a restraining order on me?

My girlfriends dad has let us date for 4 months now and hasnt had a problem with it. Then out of no where he has a problem with me, I’ve been respectful to him, I treat his daughter like a queen, my mom helped him get a new house and yet he recently has told me and my mom im a good guy and he dont like boys around his daughter but im alright. Then he tells my girlfriend that im garbage and I ruin her life, when infact all her problems comes from him and she is misserable living with him. hes made threats behind my back saying he can make my life a living hell. he threatens to break us up all the time and when my mom calls him he says he didnt say that he says that he told her she dosent get to see me for a week and she needs to work on how. He has recently threatened her if she talks to me again hel have a restraining order filed on me, now can he do this even tho I have absolutley never done anything wrong to him or his daughter? im 17 and shes 15 we havent had sexual interactions, I have never been mean to her she just tells me how amazing I am and I make her happy so can he really get a restraining order filed?

Talk to him, he will respect you for comeing to him it will probely help

actually anyone can file one. and most likly will get the tempary restraining order because judges like to air on the side of ‘just in case’ if there’s a temp order then a date will be set for court to see if it’s justified

No, I don’t think he can get a restraining order on you unless he has probable cause at the least…
