How much should I ask for my car?

I am trying to sell my car but I’m not sure how much I should be asking for it. It is a 2000 Nissan Xterra with 143,000 miles on it. It’s red in color and there are some noticable scratches along the passenger side that were done before I bought the car.

I do have a sound system in it but I’m not sure how much it’s worth in itself. It is a Hifonics Zeus Series z400. Other than the scratches on the car there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.

Google kelly blue book. Plug your info into it. And add about 150$ for the sound system. It should give a good price. All car dealerships use kelly blue book.

Answer #2

You can look in the WWW.bluebook.com website. Enter your car information on it and it will give you a good idea based on your answers. Remember, that no one is going to give you what you the asking price. Therefore make usre to add about a 10 to 20% on top of what you come up with.

Answer #3

The sell price of a car depends on car model and condition of a car. First you confirm the actual price of that car in market, then fix the rate. For details of new and branded car, click the link below. http://funadvice.com/r/bje9hgfir10

Answer #4

You should contact with your dealer. He will suggest you actual price of the car. Overall the car price depends on the car condition. If you are interested to purchase a new car in your budget then this link ( tatasafari.org) is helpful for you.

Answer #5

Contact a local car dealer. He may be able to tell you the details of the current price. You can also refer the internet for more details.

I once sold my car modified with vertical doors at a profitable price with the help of a local dealer. Just choose the reputed ones.

Answer #6

Hey sshaw1988, based on what you have said I would ask around 4k-5k on average. Which I believe is quite good for this particular model. The car seems in good condition so there is no reason why it should be sold for less.

But again, it’s quite important to compare similar cars/models on the market and see if they are selling cheaper or more expensive.

I run a car accessories related blog on wordpress, so feel free to visit and ask any additional questions (or any others) about your car and selling process, hope I can give you a hand with that.

Cheers, Harry
