How do I tell my mentor that I was raped?

I told her earlier this year and I couldnt deal with all the questions she was asking so I made it go away. She said I cant leave her anymore notes or she would just throw them away. I cant call her or she would tell my mom everything I told her. I was raped by ah*le of an uncle that I used to live with but he just moved out. I cant tell my mom because shes really sick and she wont be able to do nonthing about it. and now its affecting my grades in shcool and I cant fail. Its so bad that during school ill go in the bathroom and just break down crying in the bathroom. I dont know anybody else to tell because I have to be sthrong at home and I dont want my mom to see me cry about something. Im to that point that if he tries it again I will beat his a and go to jail for it because I need that son of a b*tch out of the house. He doesnt own the house or nonthing he just lives there because he just got out if jail for beating up his wife. Please answer fast because I really need some help!

First, how old are you? There has to be someone who can help. Even if your mom can’t physically do anything about it isn’t there someone who is responsible for your best interests? I went through something very similar as a teenager and it was my uncle by marriage. I went through all kinds of emotions about feeling like it was something I did that asked for his unwelcomed advances. Then I realized that he was the sick one and it had nothing to do with me. I was just the victim. I told my mom and she did what was right. Maybe just letting your mentor tell your mother will help. Tell your mentor your fears about your mom not being well enough to do anything. Maybe she has the right advice. What I have learned is if you are honest, there is always a way to deal with something. Holding it back doesn’t make you strong. Doing something about it to protect other people including yourself from a repeat offense makes you strong. I am not insinuating you are weak for keeping this in, I believe you are strong for surviving something like this. Do what you know in your heart is right. The longer you wait, the harder it will be to do anything to the guy who deserves the punishment. Good luck. If you need to talk fun mail me. Kristy

Okay here is what you can do

  1. Tell a teacher you can trust and tell her that you want to wit a little bit before telling someone else b\c telling the teacher is hard enough as it is

  2. Call your local rape crisis center and see what your options OR you can call te RAINN hotline. You can find the phone number for your local center and the RAINN hotline at www.RAINN.org

  3. Tell your school guidance counseler and say you want to talk about it for a while before taking bigger measures

I was in your situation and I used Number 2. They really help you A LOT. because they dont rush you and you feel confotable. Im not sureif its the same with you but I know that talking with a stranger was SO much easier than talking to someone you know. I dont know why it just was.

Hope you get help :]

P.S Also if you go to the RAINN site you can talk to the online hotline if you arent comfortable talking on the phone. That is were I started out. Its 100% confordential and there is absolutly NO way they can track you. Just dont give them info that could say where you live. Thats what one of the RAINN reps told me.

You don’t have to tell your mom but you should. Talk to your school cousaler and your mom will probably call the police but you should notify someone IMMEDIATLY!!! It’s the best thing to do.

if he just got out of jail , he is most likely on probation so raping someone has fu* ked up his life, and I know it may be hard for you, but you have to tell your mom, or better yet, the police I applaud you for thinking about others, but you really have to think about yourself too really, just go to the police and tell them your problem !
