How do I know whether my child has an ear infection? He’s been having a bad cold for a little bit but I don’t know if he has an ear infection.

Talk to your doctor to see if he has a real ear infection or not - usually, they complain about pain in their ear, depending on age, and there will be a bit of discoloration, and they’ll hold their ear or side of their head. Talk to the pediatrician for complete / sound medical advice, though, since it could be a sign of other illness, etc.
