Depending on your lifestyle if you are a active person then 500 calories is horrible if you sleep all day and dont lift a finger then go for it. But im taking you work etc so 500 calories is bad. eat 4-5 small meals a day that consist of carbs, protient, and fiber veggies its never good to go below 1200 because your body will starve
Not everyone needs 2000 calories a day, but 500 calories isn’t healthy . To answer your question: your body will start to shut down after a while. You will also begin to gain weight. The reason for this is because when you hardly eat your body will hang on to everything you do eat and store it as fat.
