What's this hard white area around my tongue piercing?

I’d go to your doctors to check it out just incase, I’m a nurse and the last answer about cutting it off with nail clippers is definately not a good idea as you could cause seriuos damage to your tongue sensations. I also have my tongue pierced but thankfully nothing happened to mine, the way you explain the area around the piercing it sounds like an infection and could quite possibly be dead tissue however I would strongly recommend getting it checked out by your doctor, that way you know what is actually wrong with it.

yea it will go away..i have had my tongue pirced now goin on for 5yrs…..and it does that just keep it clean and watch it 4 a few days it dont look any better go to where u got it done and ask them about it…cause them might not of cleaned the needle before they pierced it…..well hope it gets better..

I had that. I went to the lady and she said just keep cleaning it that did nothing. so I bought new nail clippers and cut it off. it doesn’t hurt its just dead cells sometimes its puss that built up over time and is just suck so just cut it out.

It should be fine, but you may want to go back to the place you got it done and have the piercer look at it.

I wished I could help but I got mine done a week ago the same thing happen plus my tongue got hard around it, I panicked and took it out brushed my teeth real good. I honestly do not know. I just got mine pierced 3 days ago and that is happening. I’ve been cleaning like im supposed to and everything. Its kinda freaking me out. I dont know what to do.
