How can I stop letting my boyfriend affect how I feel about my weight?

I feel so big around him, he weighs 120 and I weigh 135-ish. He always talks about working out and running on his treadmill and I can’t help but feel so insecure about this, I hate how I weigh more than him. I have a super slow metabolism, I can eat way less then him and gain 5 pounds when he could eat a whole house and gain little to nothing. When he talks about working out I like break down and cry. What are ways I can stop feeling insecure around him, he doesn’t intentionally make me feel like that, also, what are ways I can speed up my metabolism, if I can?

Answer #1

Well to be honest.. You have to exercise.. It isn’t about metabolism. Sure, I have had friends with slow metabolisms and they worked hard at exercising but they did improve… Exercise doesn’t have to be you feeling like a slave by running in the morning everyday. I can’t do that.. I have tried but it is too boring for my taste.. So find a sport you enjoy and play it a lot and with more exercise you will also look healthier (which makes people look prettier or more handsome) and boost your self-esteem. Hope I helped :)

I have no one to exercise with so I get bored with it :/ There’s not many sports someone can do in my city lol

Answer #3

Yes there is! You just have to do your research :P

Answer #4

I’ve lived here my whole life, there’s bowling, baseball and football. They don’t let girls play football, they make fun of girls for playing softball because it’s “manly” and bowling’s stupid lol.

Answer #5

Well then I feel bad for u :/ have u tried swimming?

Answer #6

They have a swimming pool but old people go there lmao. I’ve tried exercising with my sister in law but she stopped:/

Well some ways to boost your metabolism is by eating every couple hours. Drinking cold water. Exercising in cold weather. Green Tea. Spicy foods. Fiber and mild doses of caffeine. The best way to raise your metabolism is to exercise. The more muscle you build the more your metabolism will increase. It may seem boring but you just need to motivate yourself to just do it then after awhile you will want to do it because you feel so good then maybe you could even work out with your boyfriend. Also it is natural for women to weigh more than guys because girls are suppose to have a higher fat percentage for multiple of reasons.

Answer #8

Why don’t you ask if you can go work out with your boyfriend? The two of you would probably like that. Weighing 15 pounds heavier than your boyfriend is no big deal at all. Love yourself girl!

Answer #9

Do you know other girls who feel self conscious about their weight? Maybe you could form your own club of girls and have your own contests between each other. That way you could all join and go ltogether like to a YMCA. Even if you don’t loose weight, swimming and other excercise will add muscle and tone, making you feel better in how your shaping up. I do know it’s much easier when you have others to share and motivate each other, rather then the chore of doing it alone. .

If you’re going to get into exercise start lifting weights. Contrary to popular belief, it won’t make you “bulk up.” Check out this article for more info: http://funadvice.com/r/bqapeckveg7
