What does my stomach feel like this? Am I getting abs?

Yesterday, I did a 3.5 mile run. It was about 50 degrees and really windy, and most of the course I was on was up hill or down hill, about 1 mile of it was flat. This morning when I woke up, my lower abs were so sore I almost couldn’t get up. What does this mean? Why are they sore? Am I developing my lowers abs? Thanks for reading. :)

Answer #1

Well you already have abs but the motion of lifting your legs and of keeping your core balanced while running puts stress on your abdominals and that is where the soreness comes from. So yes!

Answer #2

OMG! I am so excited!!! I want my bottoms so badly. :)

Answer #4

Adding on to Elmo’s answer, also remember that DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) takes up to 24-48 hours to fully set in, so that’s partly why they hurt as well, from Muscular fatigue.
