What is happening to me while I sleep?

This has happened about 5 times and it’s starting to really bother me… I was hoping someone here could give me some insight on this… Last night I was in bed trying to go to sleep… after a bit it seemed as if my body went to sleep but my mind stayed awake… I couldn’t move, talk, or anything.. I kept trying to wake my self up, but I had no luck… I got a little scared and then all of a sudden I just raised up very quickly.. I was in this state for at least an hour or so… and like I said it has happened a few times… Thanks for any help you can give!! Clinton

It is called sleep paralysis. It is where you have a trigger to stop you acting out your dreams and hurting yourself, but this has happened before your brain has switched off. It happens to me all the time. To get yourself out of this state, use all your concentration to move one part of your body (my little finger works for me!).

Hope this helps and don’t worry. The first time it happend to me I thought I had died !!
