Scottish Independance

there are lots of places that are geographically adjacent to other countries and they still have there independance

Answer me one thing andyburton how does someone who sits in an office in london have any idea whats going on in scotland how can they make lawa etc for us when we have our own DEVOLVED parliment ???

we should have all the decisions made up in holyrood EDinburgh!!

Totally agree gud one guys!! And another thing is were not talking about giving up the crown but we jus want our own counrtys government to be able to make decisions based on scotland rather than devoloution!!

How can someone in westminster decide what is best for scotland if he has propbably never even been there in his life??

hey my ancestors are from ireland and all I can say is that I wish for all the scotts and irish to be independant…I saw the move braveheart based on wallaces life…it was an outstanding potrayal…Godspeed to the irish and scotts

I would slightly favor the idea just because I see the two cultures as distinct, but it seems to me no-one other than the English or Scottish have any real stake, as long as it remains peaceful. If the crown can give up Australia, why not Scotland too?

I don’t see why they shouldn’t have their independence. After all Scotland was an independent nation until the Act of Union in 1703, and before that the Scots Kings had ruled both countries since the death of the English Queen Elizabeth I. So I say Scotland should have independence if it wants it.

I’m happy with Scots independence but I also wonder how well the country would do when independence came… The oil and gas which are the main wealth of Scotland are, as far as I know, getting harder and more expensive to reach, so how wealthy do you think Scotland would be if it was separate from England and Wales? (This isn’t a dig at Scottish independence, it’s just me wondering out loud.)

Every penny that we make from oil goes and funds everything in england!! We could use all the water power we have in scotland to run us in electricity for the whole country We Have lots of maufacturing business in scotland theat could be reinstated!!

Were also known for growning the best strawberries and rasps in the world which could be exported to make more money

We have so many opportunities in scotland that arent fulfilled because of england we wud be better off on our own!!
