Can I put 1 on my w-4 if I am a dependent?

Under “B” it says I can put 1 if I am single and have only one job but I don’t know if that will confuse me for being independent. I asked my father and he doesn’t know much about it either.

If you put 1 that means you have one dependant (you) just be sure that your parents dont claim you cause if they do you guys could run into a problem. You could ask your employer also

So in other words, no you can’t claim yourself if your parents already claim you
