Why are some people still racist when there is only one race - the human race?

We are animals we are classified as mammals. We are just a highly intelligent form of animals. That is a fact, not a belief.

I believe we are made in the image of God and everything comes after that… I believe we are not animals we are our own above animals like you said “intelligent” I just don’t believe we are intelligent ANIMALS…. Oh my gosh - this isn’t about “God”, it’s about the relation between human and non-human … Animal, being an organism consisting of multiple cells, who acts voluntarily, responds to stimulations of a wide degree, and contains a digestive system. The moment you can honestly say that humans don’t meet any of those guidelines, is the moment I will accept your argument.

I’m not feeling attacked, I’m annoyed that you refuse to use your logic. I know many people who believe in a god, but they use common sense with their beliefs as well.

Why is anyone racist? Why do people dislike green beans? Hell, I hate green beans. I believe that racism will always be around, people hate differences and change, as this country is ruled by rich, old, white, men. It’s always going to be that way, people will hate each other for their beliefs because it is different from theirs.

As for further detail into that, I don’t understand how human nature works, we’re pretty complex if I must say so myself. I don’t even understand myself at times…

People dislike other people for being different. If all skin colors of the world were the same, then people would be “racist” about nose shapes, hair color or about whether your earlobe is attached. People are *-istic (discriminating) about political opinions, lifestyles, nations, languages, religion and about every other thing that one could possibly think of.

Maybe it’s a trait of human nature to want to divide all people up between “us” and “them”.

Racism, homophobia, sexism - it’s all the same. Pure ignorance.

Some people aren’t used to seeing others of a certain race and this can unsettle them. Most unfortunately, others have been taught that certain races are bad.

It’s just human nature to twist what we can’t understand and sometimes make it the enemy. We can’t stop it but we don’t have a listen either.

I agree with Stephen on thin it’s due to how people catagorize one another, based on their own prefriences and how the “system” operates right from the start. Who gave the idea in colthing baby girls in pink and boys in blue the miniute we’re born? These catagories, steryotypes, and racism are present right from the start of our lives. It doesn’t have to be seen as a negative thing, your own individuality is what defines you, but it is a shame that people first judge others by first apparence.

Racism is dumb. In this day and age, if we cannot set aside our petty differences in this country, than how can we expect a whole world to get along?

I respectfully disagree with your statement. To lump racism and homophobia together is un fair to people of color. No one in this country has wver owned gay slaves. I can choose to disagree that homosexuality is healthy and still love homosexuals. I cannot howeve,r say that I believe being black is not a good choice.
