Newborn belly button

Any body know a faster way for a still healing belly button to dry faster??

Answer #1

Don’t put anything on it, my sons fell off when he was about 14 days old. I never used anything, but the doctors told me to use rubbing alcohol, but I never did.

Answer #2

I agree with mandyloo here. There is no need to rush it, it doesn’t take that long to fall off. My baby was almost three weeks when his fell off. All I did was clean around it.

Answer #3

When my son was born , they told me not to put ANYTHING on it while it was healing. Not rubbing alcohol, not water, not soap, NOTHING.

His fell of and was healed by the time he was 2 weeks old.

Answer #4

My daughters ped. told me to clean it twice a day with an alcohol wipe…It took my daughters a month to fall off! I asked about it at her 1 month appt. and she said I was cleaning it too well! lol She said it needs to have a little bit of bacteria on it because that’s what helps it fall off. It kind of eats it away! Gross, but that’s what she said. She told me not to clean it for the next 2 days, and it came right off!

Once it did, I wiped her belly button with some alcohol to clean the little bit of gunk and she was fine!

Answer #5
