I would suggest to start jogging then start to pace your self each day tring to run faster and faster.

start slow and start to study your limitations (limits).

you dont want to over do it and get a heart attack on the first day. that or discourage yourself. breathe right when you exercise, and always warm up.

DONT STRETCH!

WARM UP is the key.

like before you RUN, warm up by walking then slowly jogging.

study show that stretching reduces your bodys ability to perform to its potential. you want to give it your all every time, just no more than all you got.
