Is there a middle ground between being pro-life and pro-choice?

Like I believe in the death penalty but I’m 100% against abortion.

Answer #1

Of course there is - and it is neither Pro-Life ( which is against the death penalty and abortion ) nor Pro-Choice ( which approves of maintaining the legality of abortion amongst other things ). . You are part of the “middle ground” in having an ethical point of view which is neither of the above, but that does not mean to say that it has to have a nominal label.
. Of course, if you wanted to form an action group that campaigned for your particular ethics to be implemented more widely, you would probably want to invent a suitably catchy name to describe it. .

in my personal opinion being between pro-life and pro-abortion would be when you beleive its ok to an extent but its not n ok thing for everyone to do. thats just MY opinion though. you can just be you with what you beleive in, there might not necessarily be a label for it and you rally dont need one other than “my opinion/beleif”

Answer #3

YES! although i dont believe in either, it is for totally different reasons. I can argue both differently without contradicting myself. Abortion invloves the choice of a person. The death penalty involves too many people to be compared to one persons choice.

Answer #4

Yes. It makes absolutely no sense in my mind, but yes, you can believe whatever you want to believe. Also, if it helps, a lot of the conservative people in the conservative states are anti-abortion and pro death penalty. You’re hardly unique in that aspect.

Answer #5

yes… im there

Answer #6

i don’t believe there is. mean its life or death. i can understand partial abort. but that is after the fetus as already passed away in the womb. i agree with you 100% i’m against it. Even if your not ready to be a parent there is adoption. Regardless weather the child is born or not it still has a heart beat and can have a chance of having a loving family and happy life even if its not you personally.

Answer #7

Many years ago I tried to be on the fence about it but It can’t be done. You are either on one side or the other

Answer #8

I think it depends on the circumstance, some people are pro-life but would change their opinion for something like assault. They would believe that as the woman had been assaulted she could decide what to do - but then other people who are pro-life would say “give it away for adoption”… It’s quite tricky.

Answer #9

You and most of the red states. Welcome to dissonance that I don’t understand and yet many conservatives seem to be able to live with quite comfortably. And people, read what she’s actually said. She’s talking about abort.ion and the death penalty. Many argue that a child is innocent while those on death penalty brought it on themselves. I think that’s a ridiculous argument, but there you have it.
