Is Jesus God's REAL son?

I don’t believe in God, but is Jesus REALLY supposed to be god’s son? I think that Virgin Mary just wasn’t really a virgin.

Answer #1

…no more reliable than a book being the TRUE word of God, simply because the BOOK says so…

Answer #2

I said there was evidence… I didn’t say it was reliable…

That is true :)

Answer #3

I used to think that God had sex with Jesus’s mom :P

Answer #4

exactly what I was thinking, modestalchemist.

Answer #5

Have you guys heard of the 3 in 1 God Jesus Holy spirit

they are all one

Answer #6

yep

Answer #7

No, he’s not?

Answer #8

Then you will know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it is the spirit of the son of God.

Now you’re just LYING.

Answer #9

I agree with toadaly. There probably wasn’t a historical Jesus, and if there was, his life has become so fused with myth and legend that it’s impossible to know the facts about his existence. They aren’t recorded anywhere outside the Gospels, and those are not reliable sources of information. But it’s more likely he is a mythical, allegorical figure, and he’s been interpreted that way by some.

Answer #10

“Really? How do you know that? Note you can’t quote the new testament to support it, since that would be circular reasoning.”

Oh didn’t you hear? If it looks like a doughnut, it MUST be TRUE!

Answer #11

Agree with toadaly as well.

No Jesus wasn’t the son of God because there is no God. You have to prove God and which God first. Then validate the bible. Good luck

Answer #12

yes, mary was a virgin with the birth of her son Jesus. later on she and joseph had children…she concieved them the normal, conventional way, which means after the births of her other children, she was no longer a virgin.

does everyone understand that or is that like confusing to you all? just wondering.

Answer #13

im not christian but jesus did exist I dont know if he was friends with buddha but he is our prophet . we dont believe he is the son of god because god cannot have a son or daughter or mother or father. he is god. which means above humans. if god came to earth in the form of jesus it would mean that he is degrading himself and lowering his stat as god. in the bible, tora, and quran it says that the biggest sin you can do is partnering someone with god, believing in more than one god, or not believing in god at all. honestly I wouldnt go off of what the bible says it has been changed way to much for it to be the word of god. what your reading is a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy and so on. someone most likely saw the other persons mistake and corrected it and added some of his own stuff which you have the final result of. no offense but its true. dont believe me do some research. the best and the most prestigious christian university in usa, there is a professor who said this to one of his students. as for jesus being the most influential person in the history im afraid that person his wrong. Barnard shaw he said about mohammad if he was the leader of the world he would solve every single problem drinking is afternoon cup of tea. micheal harp said in his book 100 most influential people he chose mohammad peace be upon him as number 1. just so you know the person that wrote this book is christian. for those who dont know who mohammad peace be upon him is. he is the last prophet sent by god. the religion he bought down from god is islam.

Answer #14

“well sorry if I’m mistaken, but I’ve read that there is a complete lack of evidence that Jesus existed compared to other historical figures.”

And in 2000 years there will be a lack of evidence that George Washington ever existed. People of that time will think our history books are nothing but myths, and that George Washington was merely an icon that we based our political system on. They will question whether we ever even had a constitution. But that doesn’t make it any less true.

Answer #15

There IS evidence that Jesus existed (Roman historical records, other religions mention him, etc.) …but there’s no evidence that he’s the son of God, or God incarnate, etc.

There are no reliable Roman historical records that point to the existence of a man named Jesus. There are the corrupted records of Josephus, and there are references to the “Christos” worshiped by the Christian sect made by other Roman historians, but there is no direct reference to a historical Jesus outside the Gospels.

Answer #16

“There is a better line of histolrical evidence for the historical man of jesus than Ceasar.”

False, and repeatedly debunked. Apologies for the biased source, but the points it raises are valid: http://www.jesusneverexisted.com/exist.html

“Unlike the mythical Jesus Christ, we know what Caesar looked like and we have a complete history of his life. In turn, general, orator, historian, statesman and lawgiver. We have words written by Caesar himself and words written by both his friends and his enemies. Artifacts confirm his life and death, as do his successors. Caesar established a style of government – and a calendar – which endured for centuries.”

Also, I don’t see Jesus on any ancient currency.

Answer #17

it says in matthew that the holy ghost came upon mary and she conceived, without being with a man. so yes, he is in a way. god is so powerful, that his spirit conceived a child within mary. that’s why jesus is a manefestation of god, and the holy ghost. also, in the bible, they say jesus is a son of david, because thats what he is in flesh. but hes a son of god in spirit (literally) because the holy ghost came upon mary and she conceived. jesus isn’t a son of god, as in saying we are all sons and daughters of god… christ was god manefest in flesh.

Answer #18

jesus IS god

Answer #19

Hi, I’m a student of christian counseling and biblical study. Yes, Jesus is the son of God. (If you accept Jesus as your savior–His spirit comes in–which is not at all scary). When we do that we have a feeling of happiness, feeling good, even being able to manage life and problems. In a sense, He helps us (that’s why they call Him “the helper”, teacher, friend, brother, etc. As far as Mary, because we KNOW Gods spirit exists, we know that the SPIRITUAL IMPREGNATION was true. These people were also, very dedicated and spiritual people who NEVER LET their daughter out without chaperones and even if she was ever alone–these people would rather die than go against God. (It is possible to have complete control over ourselves (BUT ONLY WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT– INSIDE) If you want to know the one true God of love, grace and mercy(because once you are a christian, you can be forgiven for anything. Your pain, memories are lightened and best of all you’ll live forever with a body-you will be you. The freedom from all the junk that bothered you before, and He helps you to accomplish things (supernaturally)
JUST SAY: Dear Father God, I am a sinner. I know that you sent you son Jesus to die the death of torture that was meant for me. I thank you Father. I Thank you Lord Jesus. I need you to come into my life and help me. I accept your free gift. Now, I know I will live forever, and my sins are forgiven. AMEN

Answer #20

“And for Buddhists, he’s REALLY ‘supposed’ to be a friend to Buddha”

That’s funny…Buddha’s time was 500 years before Jesus came along, lol (but that’s where Jesus learned all his golden rules…from the teachings of Buddha)

It really was funny…I’m not making fun or anything.

Answer #21

Jesus REALLY supposed to be god’s son?

For Christians, yes. He’s REALLY ‘supposed’ to be the son of God.

And for Muslims, he’s REALLY ‘supposed’ to be a prophet.

And for Buddhists, he’s REALLY ‘supposed’ to be a friend to Buddha.

And for professional athletes, he’s REALLY ‘supposed’ to be the reason they win.

…I suppose…

Answer #22

There is NO way to know for sure if any of it is true - there is actually more evidence that leads people to the conclusion that it’s all been made up rather than it’s a true story.

Answer #23

There are no reliable Roman historical records that point to the existence of a man named Jesus.

I said there was evidence… I didn’t say it was reliable…

Answer #24

Captainassassin: “No evidence out side of the bible”

Never heard of the dead sea scrolls? There is a better line of histolrical evidence for the historical man of jesus than Ceasar. The first record of Julius Ceasar was made almost 250 years after his passing. Thomas wrote about the life of jesus no less than 50 years after his death and resurrection (lets just say death for all you non believers, because the resurrection is a whole seperate manner.

Please do your checks on historical recorsd before you claim they dont exist. Yes its sounds crazy that there is more evidence for jesus than Julius, but its not that hard to prove. Just google it (obviously check the sources and double check them)

Answer #25

I can’t be sure if a historical Jesus existed at all, seeing as there is no evidence outside of the Bible. I would probably say that he was just a myth and probably based on previous pagan gods who share descriptive similarities with Jesus.

There IS evidence that Jesus existed (Roman historical records, other religions mention him, etc.) …but there’s no evidence that he’s the son of God, or God incarnate, etc.

Answer #26

…because we KNOW Gods spirit exists…

Uh no… you don’t…

know that the SPIRITUAL IMPREGNATION was true

No… you don’t know THAT either…

Answer #27

Hi Maddy. Christians believe that Jesus is god’s son, and that he is simultaneously god. Obviously virgins don’t give birth, so if Jesus isn’t just a myth, he certainly had ordinary parents. Personally, I don’t think there is a historical human behind Jesus at all. I think the stories started off as allegorical, in which Jesus represented the plight of the Jews, and later gentile Christians misunderstood him as a historical person and expanded the legend.

Answer #28

“No matter what your belief, Jesus is definitely the most influentul being in human history.”

Unfortunately, that’s probably true, even if he didn’t exist. It’s just a pity that its a net negative influence, not a positive one.

“As far as Mary, because we KNOW Gods spirit exists”

Really? How do you know that? Note you can’t quote the new testament to support it, since that would be circular reasoning.

“These people were also, very dedicated and spiritual people who NEVER LET their daughter out without chaperones”

Mary was already married to Joseph at the time. I don’t think any chaperones were involved, somehow. There’s certainly no mention of chaperones in Matthew.

Answer #29

Have you guys heard of the 3 in 1 God Jesus Holy spirit they are all one

Yes… we’ve heard about the trinity… over and over… and over… and over… and it TOO, leads to questions that cannot be answered.

Answer #30

Jesus is God’s real son and Mary is a virgin cause she never had sex. God put Jesus in her womb. God is very real and he loves you. Don’t forget that. :)

Answer #31

YES, HE’S GOD’S SON. MARY IS A VIRGIN BECAUSE SHE BECAME PREGNANT BY THE HOLY SPIRIT. GOD PUT THE BABY IN HER TUMMY AND NOT JUST PREGNANT BECAUSE OF SEX.

Answer #32

No, he’s not gods son, Mary is not a virgin because she got pregnant from some other guy, and yes, she got pregnant because of sex.

God bless.

Answer #33

the birth of jesus christ is another reason why the trinity doesn’t make sense to me. how can the father impregnate himself inside his mother? doesn’t make sense.

luke 1:35– “And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God”.

so Jesus (according to the bible) was the literal son of Heavenly Father and came to a virgin mother.

and yes, later on mary went on to have children with joseph. she wasn’t a virgin her whole life. jesus had half brothers and sisters, more or less.

Answer #34

sorry for the double post… above

As far as christians believe, Jesus was actually the son of God. So as for your question… then YES, Jesus was really supposed to be the son of God.

you are free to speculate as to if this is true, if this matters, if you believe it… etc. But as for the story that Christians believe, then YES.

As it is in the movie Dogma, Mary only gave birth to Christ as a virgin… then she went on to have other children with her husband… so therefore… no longer a virgin.

Answer #35

As I was saying, in other words, when you ask the spirit of Jesus(the holy spirit) you will know it. Then you will know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it is the spirit of the son of God. In genesis and 1 John it talks about the spirit talking to the son. We shall… There is also a reason for the ONE God to have 3 parts. Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These parts of God always existed, but after man ruined the creation with a conceited evil devil, man then needed God to send Jesus (God in man’s flesh- sinless)to rescue us. The Holy Spirit(the vehicle with God’s Spirit) came to Jesus at His baptism. To complete that Jesus the son now filled with God’s Spirit would die on the cross for OUR SINS. It was the only way God who loves us could save us from ourselves. It was God becoming us and taking our punishment for us so we could live forever and live redeemed lives here. Yes, Jesus is part of God, He is His Son.
