Why were there so many sons of god like jesus before he existed?

I was doing a bit of research and came across a video on youtube that gave a long and mean VERY long list of people who claimed to be “the son of god” before jesus as even born. They all had 12 followers, all began their ministry or work at 30, all claimed to travel the world healing people of sickness and blindness, all were crucified and rose again. My question is, isn’t christanity just a copy of the many religions which had the same central figure before it?

Whose…

Rhetoric spews faster than a speeding bullet… Judgmental opinions are more powerful than a locomotive… Fundamentalist christian arrogence is able to leap tall buildings in a single bound… Look! Up in the sky! It’s a bird. It’s a plane. It’s… super-christian!

King of the one liners who doesn’t answer to any of us heathens.

“…Amblessed seems to have resorted to drive-by status. He posts one liners and then runs away. Doesn’t seem like he is very secure in his faith since he is unable to defend his comments…”

Apparently, christians of Amblessed caliber do not feel the need to take responsibility for the statements that they make… rather undignified shameful behaviour…

Answer #3

Amblessed,

Would it be fair to say that you stated as an entry on this tread: “… The Bible clarifies all of those questions…” for example: “…isn’t Christianity just a copy of the many religions which had the same central figure before it?”.

And if my assumption is correct (which seems not unreasonable in the context), would you be in the position to give a specific relevant example, Amblessed?

Answer #4

Amblessed seems to have resorted to drive-by status. He posts one liners and then runs away. Doesn’t seem like he is very secure in his faith since he is unable to defend his comments.

Answer #5

I’d be careful about putting too much stock in youtube videos, but the basic premise is true. Every emperor claimed to be god or the son of a god (since the emperor’s father was formerly known as ‘Lord’, the new king could only claim to be ‘son of god’ until the memory of his father had faded.)

For example, the title often associated with Jesus ‘king of king, and lord of lords’, is a rip off of what all the great emperors were called.

Answer #6

Come on Amblessed we are waiting for some examples, atleast 5??? Show us the funny???

Answer #7

No… it doesn’t…

Answer #8

The Bible clarifies all of those questions.
