Gyno.

So, I was just wondering..what exactly happens when you go to the gyn. office to get birth control. Do they HAVE to do a test or what exactly. And if they do, what all happens..? Oh, and is there any way they could tell if you’ve had sex or not? Just curious because I have a few times and my mom would be going with me and she doesnt know that I’ve already done it a few times, was careful though, dont worry (: but anyway, yeah anyone know? Thanks!

when I went to get birth control for the first time they asked me a few questions like what do you want to go on the pill for your periods or to stop getting pregnant or both. And they also asked me if there was a history of strokes in my family and then they just took my blood pressure that was it :) I was a bit scared at firt cause I thought id have to have a full on examination like lol. but its nothing to worry about :)

If you’ve had sex then they probably will want to do an examination and I would not start birth control without one. They want to make sure that you’re healthy enough for BC. Just tell your mom to wait in the waiting room. They have to respect your confidentially and they would not tell her. An examination would include them looking at your exterior and possibly inserting a speculum to examine your interior. It’s relatively skinny and just feels slightly uncomfortable. Drink a little tea before you go and relax, it’ll be okay.
