How do I get my mom to leave during my first pelvic exam ?

So I’m 17 and I’ve been sexually active before, my mom is taking me to the gyno because I told my parents my boyfriend and I might start to become sexually active. When I go to get my exam I know they ask you questions about your history . I don’t want my mom to be present for any of that so will they ask her to leave the room? What do I say to not have her in the room?

Well yeah it is all depending on what you want, because many times they do let someone be in the room while this is going on. But meaby you can tell your mom you want to go in alone you know to have your privacy im sure that she will understand.

Ask her to leave while the doctor is in there. Tell her you’re not comfortable. It’s a lot harder for parents to say no to a reasonable request for privacy if there is a third party present.
