Why did I gain a pound by eating 1,500 calories?

Answer #1

. You didn’t. ….. . ….. It is merely the weight of the food plus waste products that are still in transit through your digestive tract. . There are zero calories in one litre of water, but if you weigh yourself before and after drinking one litre of water, your weight will have temporarily increased by one kilogram - but only until that one kilogram is excreted again in the form of urine, sweat, tears, saliva and water vapour in your breath. . The most weight (i.e. tissues forming part of your bodily structure) that an extra 1500 kCal of food can put on as fat is given by: 1500 / 9 = 167 gram or about 0.37 of a pound. since there are 9 kCal in one gram of fat. .
