Why is this so difficult to realize for United States?

If United States focus all his scientific knowledge to create free energy and alternative for gas instead of oil, I mean no dependecy on anything. Everything would be better.But weirdly nobody has figure it out this. What do you think? No dependency is the key.

Oh sure, it is the key. However, the expenses and efforts to reach this goal, which seems to be just a really good idea on paper, is the factor that is preventing it. There’s a lot of skepticism toward this because of how inconceivable limitless energy seems to be.

Scientific developments are extremely expensive and in a economic recession that we’re slowly tugging ourselves out from, there’s a legitimate reason to not direct funding to these things.

While it could be said that our economic reliance is what got us in the mess in the first place, we have to tackle one problem at a time and right now, it’s stabilizing the economy. Then we can worry about how to get ourselves out of the mess we are in.

I can’t say I’m well-versed in the field of developing energy. However, I do feel that directing money to it now will only add to the problem because the solution won’t come quick enough. Though, arguably, if we re-direct funding, say away from the military, then perhaps we could manage…
