Dealing with depression?

If anyone of you have depression what can you do about it? I have clinical depression. Been in hospital times for it. Other than medication, what are other ways to deal with this somewhat common and harsh condition? What helps? I heard that having a passion helps and I love motorcycle racing but I just cant afford it. Anything else or do I just have do be shitty about myself and to all around me?

BTW I have 100mg of Citalopram per day, other meds have side effects which is why im still on this but with strong dosage.

hmm… I’ve been there myself… the best suggestion I have is cut down on self-medicating (if you do…)or at least dont drink so much… but I think that keeping yourself busy certainly helps… btw… if you need someone to talk to…I’m here (if that makes a difference) lol

oh and good luck :)

I was depressed for a while in 2007. I got over it by thinking positive and spending some much needed time with my good friends. Hope this helps!

You may want to find a counselor to talk to, it may help… Day to day dealing, I dont know if this will help, but try and force yourself to do what you have to do… It’s very easy to let things go and then things get overwhelming, just force yourself to do little things everyday.

YOU MIGHT WANT TO FIND ANOTHER HOBBY … TRY TO GET A JOB AND SAVE UP FOR YOUR MOTORCYCLE … .TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT SOME OTHER WAYS IN ADDITION TO THE MEDICATION. THINK OF WHAT MAKES YOU DEPRESSED… AND TRY TO AVOID IT… I WILL SUGGEST SEEING A PHYCOLOGIST IF NOT ALREADY! THEY CAN LISTEN AND HELP YOU THINK OF NEW HOBBIES AND WAYS OF MANAGING YOUR DEPRESSION
