Why do people take pills to deal with their emotions?

My view depression ends its not permanent no need to make things worse by adding drugs. I can understand it if your depressed and you just dont know why. Like its somekinda brain problem.

People dont take pills to deal with their emotions. Not to mention, do you think antidepressants somehow make you happy? Because if there was such a thing as happy pill, everyone would be taking them…

Maybe you should do a little research on what depression is. Major depression is a mental disorder. We’re not talking about having a depressed “mood” for a week and then taking pills for it. People who suffer from depression have been suffering for a while and it is starting to interfere with their lives. The reason they take pills is because it alters the chemical imbalance in the brain. The same sort of results are also seen by therapy, but pills do work faster and they are cheaper. Also some times you really need the pills to get the person to a point where they can be receptive to therapy. And how would you know whether depression lasts? Some people have been depressed for decades…
