is the cholesterol in egg yolk HDL or LDL?

I believe its HDL

Answer #2

i think it contains HDL but they’ve been found to hardly change your LDL levels

Answer #3

I agree

Answer #4

I am afraid the question is fundamentally flawed. . The terms LDL and HDL refer to the levels of “serum cholesterol” circulating in the blood. The terms LDL and HDL do not refer to the “dietary cholesterol” in the food you eat (such as egg yolk). . It is known that diets high in saturated fats (particularly in people who do not get adequate exercise) can be responsible for raising both the levels of total serum cholesterol in the blood (which is not necessarily bad) and the ratio of “bad” LDL to “good” HDL cholesterol in the blood. . Higher levels of LDL are correlated to higher levels of cardio-vascular disease (CVD) but this does not necessarily mean that higher levels of LDL cause higher levels of CVD. . Research shows that eating egg yolk raises the levels of both LDL and HDL cholesterol in the blood by the same proportion, and so that change in cholesterol level should be considered to have a neutral rather than a bad effect as far as CVD is concerned. . It is considered to be safe (or even desirable) to eat up to 2 eggs per day, but on days when eating eggs it is advised that other high fat foods should be reduced - particularly those that are high in saturated fat. .
