Is gun or needle better for a cartilage piercing?

I am interested in getting my cartilage pierced and I was wondering whats better a gun or a needle? And also for how long is the pain really noticeable?

Answer #1

needles fer sure :]. I got mine done with a needle and it didnt hurt :].

Answer #2

I got mine done years ago with a gun, but now most places use a needle, which is better. The piercing itself hurts very little because it’s in cartilage where there isn’t many nerve endings. The most painful part is the healing process. Mine was sore for months, and many develop keloids, or bumps of scar tissue. The good part is, like brokenlunchbox said, once it’s healed, it’s healed and never hurts again. Unlike my navel piercing, which has healed and gotten sore again at least three times in the eight years I’ve had it. Getting your ear cartilage pierced isn’t bad. You can handle it. :)

Answer #3

The piercer will use a needle - guns are not usually a good idea. The pain will depend on how your personal pain tolerance levels are but it’ll never be unbearable.

Answer #4

ouch. use a needle. xx

Answer #5

Piercers arn’t legally aloud to use guns now on any part of the body except the ear lobes.
