Are you wanting to pierce your cartilage yourself? From your question it seems like you are. If that’s so, don’t because that’s just retarded. You don’t pierce ANYTHING yourself. Piercings are meant to be done by PROFESSIONALS. They know what they’re doing, you don’t. If you do it yourself, it’ll only cause issues. These issues could be, but aren’t limited to, infections, not lined up/done right, closing up WAY too easily, not healing right, and a whole sht load of other stuff. If you have it done by a professional, it’ll be 100% better. Don’t be scared about pain, it won’t be bad at all. The pain will depend on how much pain you can personally handle but it’ll never be unebarable. If you want to do it yourself because your parents said no, don’t do it. That’s just stupid as I’ve already said. It’s best to either try to reason with them and get them to say yes/give consent, or simply wait until your 18. Then you’ll be able to have it done right without needing parental consent. My advice was not meant to offend you or upset you, it was gave to HELP you. Trust me, self-piercings are fck ups waiting to happen and you’ll be VERY glad you listened and got it done professionally in the long run.
