Well, I believe that there is an afterlife. It would suck to go to hell, but not heaven. But theoretically of course, why would it suck. If there was no afterlife that would basically mean that we would simply cease to exist right? we wouldn’t know that we were dead or anything…it would just be over. So it wouldn’t suck, because for it to suck you would have to have awareness of your state, which wouldn’t be possible.

Let’s say that humans are just another animal kind. We eat, we fuck, we reproduce, we sleep, we poop and then we die. No afterlife whatsoever. BUT, by the simple fact that we meditate on whether there is an afterlife or not we distinguish our self’s therefor there is an afterlife. If there wasn’t we would not meditate nor debate on this issue. Also (I think) probably after death we will use our brains to full capacity and we shall understand the mysteries that we cannot conceive such as the infinite or better yet, afterlife.

I believe that there isn’t an afterlife, but I don’t see it as being by yourself for the rest of eternity, I think that after I die it will be just what it was like before I was born - Nothing!

And, do you know what, I won’t care, or be upset about it because, I would be able to notice it because I will be dead.

I think that heaven and hell came about because it is hard for humans to imagine absolutely nothing because all that we have ever experienced is something.

If there is no afterlife, you won’t lay there thinking about it, because you won’t be there. It’ll be just like the (possibly eternal) time before you were born. Nothing at all.

Nothingness sounds scary, but it really isn’t unpleasant. It isn’t anything at all.

Well, I wouldn’t know what to think if I died alone with no one to guard me. It would suck if there wasn’t an afterlife. What would eternity be like? Hmm, not good!

Would HEAVEN still be a nice place to be for you??? Neva because the ones you love is (according to wanna believe) burning in hell and you have to live without them forever and knowing how they suffer!

Who in his right mind would want to go to heaven knowing their loved ones might be in hell and wishing them a great AFTER LIFE lol

@ Victorash91. If there is an afterlife, it is not there because we debate it, that is flawed logic. Im debating about kangoroo dreams curing cancer, and we all know that will never happen. Just because humans debate something, doesnt make it true.

We contemplate time travel, warp speed, scifi, and a whole mess of other physically impossible feats, yet they dont exist base on the sole fact that we thought of it. Im not saying there is no afterlife. Im saying if there is one, its not because we debate the issue.

I think an afterlife (Christian heaven/hell scenario) would suck worse than oblivion after death. It’s either eternal torture OR eternally singing praises to some goober sitting on a throne. I’d just rather have sweet oblivion; eternal dreamless sleep. (Though I must admit that certain theories of reincarnation might have some appeal to me…)
