After reading the Bible and studying it in great detail I believe the meaning (purpose) of our lives have changed from what it was to be in the beginning. Initially I believe we were to be part of a labor force (host) for the creator. However, due to a set of unfortunate circumstances, that has changed and I think our purpose is to survive both physically and spiritually. Both the Old Testament and New are warnings that things are not as they were intended to be and there will be another major “die off”; this one will include the human race. The major message I got when I read the OT is that from Moses’ transcription of the Torah to Micah, the last book of the OT, the creator has been distancing Himself from us (humanity) and readying himself for our destruction. In the New Testament there is one very clear message: People have to change who they are being in relation to the Creator (including his creation) and to each other. Unfortunately that does not seem to be happening on a grand scale.

Once again you are wrong. Why do you consistently state falsehoods? There is proof of consciousness after death. There are many accounts of people being dead and being resuscitated. Often times the people who survive these episodes tell of things they have seen while being “dead”. I personally know two such people.

IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ I’ve been exploring this same exact topic and am an aspiring writer hoping to write a book for not only the clarification of my own mind, but for the minds of others. I’ll start by saying that the meaning of life isn’t universily the same contrary to what many of us think. I thought that myself up until awhile ago, but the meaning differs from person to person. We shouldn’t all be working towards the same goals. For me, the meaning is being all that I can be. I have a life list of things that I MUST accomplish before I pass, I’ll go over everything I have so far:

  1. Become a published author
  2. Travel the world
  3. Learn sign language
  4. Learn to speak another language
  5. Read the entire dictionary
  6. Ride a horse at top speed
  7. Make right with all the people I’ve wronged
  8. Change someone’s life
  9. Become one with nature for a day
  10. Get my black belt in taekwondo Nobody takes me seriously when I discuss my values, but I mean everything I say from the bottom of my heart. I’m a very uinique person, but few people actually take the time to get to know me and it kills me. That’s why self-espression is something else that’s very important to me. I’m deep, spiritual and also considering becoming a philosopher. But my real passion is writing, I can’t change anybody’s opinions because people will be who they want to be. But you know what I can do in spite of my inability to change the mindframes of others? I can continue to work towards improving myself and hopefully, the world around me. Justice is something else that’s very important to me. If justice was served automatically, we wouldn’t appreciate our blessings as much, which is why if you want right to be done, you sometimes need to take things into your own hands. A lot of people try to take the easy way out, but I mean it when I say that I’m a person who loves a challenge. I’d rather work for what I get, than have things just thrown at me. The day I die, I want to honestly be able to say that I truly earned what I have. A lot of people over-estimate themselves, but that’s something I’ve long-since ceased doing. There are a lot of other meanings of life for me, but I’ll finish by announcing my plan to improve the world. I’m not talking change the world, because that would be unrealistic, but I’ll settle with the satisfaction of knowing that I at least helped to improve it. We all have the audacity to complain about how much the world sucks and it needs to change, but yet, none of us will get over ourselevs long enough to actually get up and so something. It’s time to start working towards the changes we want to see. I don’t how, when, or what I plan on doing yet, but I feel like God has a plan for me and I need to carry it out…………..But I can’t do it alone, I need as much help and advice as I can get. Anybody who’s with me, please get at me via fun-mail. PLEASE!!! You have no idea the feeling od peace I have right now, I feel like things are okay…for a moment. I feel like this is the right time to start my pilgrimmage. This all probably sounds really nutty to you guys, but please hear me out…………………………We can do it……….

I think your thoughts on this subject are very valid. The only thing I would add is, “we are all here to help each other” God did not mean for man to live alone . We need help sometimes and sometimes we need to give help. That’s the meaning of life to me.

The meaning of life is to influence the world around us. God created us to take care of his creations and to be his children. He wants us to take care of the world, treat one another with respect, and help eachother.

Life is like the title page of the book. It could be good or bad. The pages inside aren’t written yet. And they won’t be written until we walk with our Father in Heaven. When we reach the time of Judgement we see our lives as just the first steps of a long, unending journey.

Answer #7

At the lowest level, the meaning of life is to survive and to pass on favorable traits. This is what all life does from the tiniest microbe to the the tallest Redwood tree.

Any meaning beyond that is entirely up to us.

There is no proof of any consciousness after death so you are best off making the best of your time here instead of biding time hoping for a better afterlife

Answer #8

I’m an atheist and religious people often think we don’t think life has a meaning. I like to look at like this: the meaning of life is to give meaning to it.

what you do or don’t do with your life is entirely up to you.
