Why would the devil want us to believe that the Earth is a sphere?

A tiny minority of christians insists that the Earth is square. They base their extraordinary claim on Biblical texts (look it up yourself: Daniel 4:10-11, Matthew 4:8, Joshua 10:12, 1 Chronicles 16:30, Psalms 93:1 & 96:10 & 104:5, Isaiah 45:18, etc.).

They have published their inventions on a web-site, and in response to the argument of evidence resulting from space exploration (not to mention the Laws of Physics), they role out the good old reason-killer: ‘…Just more proof that Hollywood is in league with the devil… every picture of the Earth as seen from space was faked.  In fact, the entire NASA space program is a sham…’.

This is not only an undignified display of ignorance that demonstrates how religion has the ability to confuse people, It also brings up the next question:

Why would the devil want us to believe that the Earth is a sphere?

You know better, and I know better, but for the small group of people who really believe this, it is their solemn ideal and you can’t change it.

You dont know captain? The end of the world is at the edge… boats simply fall off… it’s like a giant waterfall (come on, isnt that obvious!), then God must some how pump the water back in?
