What should I give my son for stomach pains/cramping, etc?

I’m a divorced mom and my son has been having pains in his belly for a month now. He had been in the hospital for a week, and appendicitis was ruled out. He also has fevers, vomiting of certain foods, lack of appetite, sometimes constipated, sometimes diarhea.
I don’t know what to do. I’m trying to wait until I sign him up for Tricare Prime in a week, as I just left the Army Reserves for Active Duty. He doesn’t have it everyday, but, it’s become a frequent issue. I’m so worried; but, I was wondering if anyone has any idea what I should give him to ease his pain, to help him in the meantime of waiting to get him enrolled in Tricare Prime with the Army, cause I don’t currently have any insurance for him, long story. Please get back to me if anyone has any remedy until I can get a military doctor to check him out. Any ideas would be great! Thank you…

I’m sorry your son is sick, I’m assuming you’ve tried the usual otc stuff like tums? I dont know what to say, except keep him hydrated, maybe no solid foods? stick to soups and stuff like that (blend stuff so it’s easier to eat and that may help it stay down)

My son had stomach pains and cramps at a young age. Went to the doctor and he ran all kinds of test and found out that my sons stomach was not producing enough of enzymes to break his food up enough. That was causing the pains, so my doctor put my son on mylanta or one of those type liquid meds. I had to do this for several years until he got older. The doc said to do a teaspoon twice a day, morning and night. I am not saying this is what your son has, but the mylanta would not be a bad idea. What about diet? Get a chart and record what he eats and when he has his stomach pains. Fried foods are really bad on the stomach as is spicy foods. Does he drink carbonated drinks? They are really bad also. Good luck to you and your son.

At that young age he could be seriously ill or well on his way to being seriously ill. I know the high cost of health care is scary but for his sake he needs to be checked out by a different doctor. Obviously there is something going on that isn’t right. No one on here that I know of is a doctor so taking advice on what to give him can be very dangerous. Call around. You should be able to find a doc that will take payments. Or contact the base and see if you can get him in there sooner.
