What should I do about my dad, who rarely let's us see our mom?

My dad has full custody of me and my brother and won’t let us see our mom or her family unless they are the days that the court has ordered us to see her. My dad is married to another woman who controls him dearly. In the past two months I have missed my little half-brothers birthday and my grandmothers birthday because my mom doesn’t pay him child support.

Maybe he’s court-ordered not to let you see her on any day besides the days they said. The only thing you can do is say to your father, ‘Hey, look. I want to see my mother and my half-brother. Why can’t I?. They’re my family too.’

well, depending on how old you are, I would say that a child has every rights to making desisions of their own - as long as your mom hasn’t abused you in any way and never did wrong against you, I don’t see the harm in missing her and her side of the family! have a one on one talk with your dad about your personal feelings!

Answer #3

There may be something in the custody settlement about visitation and child support…if she doesn’t pay it, she doesn’t get visitation. The sad part is that its you that is suffering.

Maybe just ask him if you can visit because YOU WANT to…that the child support is an adult thing between her and him…and it’s not right for that to keep you from seeing your mom.
