What is it that God requires of us?

PLEASE I WANT TO KNOW your VIEW AS A CHRISTIAN

Answer #1

To constantly ‘Praise’ Him (pray without ceasing) and seek His will for our lives - we should strive to please Him in all we say and do.

Answer #2

I think he wants us to come to him, humbly, and ask his forgiveness for our sins, as a begining of our walk with him, he in return offers us the rebirth, of our spirits, opening us up to his truth, and the light that he gives, he wants us to learn of him, and learn to walk like he did. He wants to eventually see a reflection of himself in us, as we lay aside every weight that hinders us, and follow him thru his spirit. Every day is new and exciting, as we trust in him. He takes us to places we never even dreamed of, and we meet people of all walks of life, that he brings across our paths, for a season, a reason, or a lifetime. Our job is to stay refreshed in him, continually, feeding at his table, of his spirit, and his heavenly manna, he fills us that we may have to give to those he brings to us, he leads and we learn to follow, nothing dead and dull about this, instead, he wants a living vibrant relationship with each of us, as we lean on him for all that we need, or have or are, and find our being in him. He teaches us love, and mercy and forgiveness, and expects us to walk it out, daily, refusing to get caught up in things that will take us from our pursuit of him. His light shines thru his children, on earth, teaching and training, and drawing others into his fold. He is spirit, and he is light and he is love. In the begining he gave one command”, Do not eat of this tree..” Man could not obey even that one simple thing… bringing all the heartache that we have today. 6000 years later, his command to us, now, is “Love God with all your might, and your neighbor as yourself”, and we still struggle, even with that… He truly is long suffering to put up with us, I for one, and mighty glad he is. Thank you Jesus for your love, and the hope that we find in you. Lead us where you want us to go, speak thru us, use us for your glory, empty us of ourselves, and fill us with your spirit, deliver us from evil, and keep us in the palm of your hand.To you be all the praise, honor, and glory. Amen.

Answer #3

I think he’d rather see us do something useful with our lives and make our own decisions rather than spend it blindly praising him because we were brought up to. I mean Jesus died for us and everything, I doubt that after that he wants us to just sit around and flatter him 24/7.

Just be nice to people and don’t be a jerk and stuff.

Answer #4

Generally speaking, be good and do good. The Ten Commandments are there to be followed at ALL TIMES, not recited only when you feel like pointing fingers.

Not that a lot of people can recite the whole thing in order anyway.

Answer #5

For the general populous I believe he wants us to fully understand the message he left us through Moses and Jesus. To look at the evidence, both Spiritual and physical, and decide for our self who the rightful ruler of this world is. There are others that are given deeper more challenging assignments; He expects these specialists to draw closer to Him for guidance and to do the best that they can to accomplish them and to manage their daily lives in a moral and loving way, so as to be good role models for others.

Answer #6

He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

Micah 6:8

I love this verse - for me it sums up everything.

Loving Jesus means walking humbly alongside him (a very close picture, but not leaving us any room to boast about our relationship).

As we walk alongside him and see the world through his eyes, we see the injustice in the world and work with him to give people a fair deal in life.

And this walk alongside him will also give us the grace to act with mercy, instead of selfish ambition. We are to draw people to Christ through this humble walk with him, rather than through aggression or a sense of superiority.

I am really keen to find out how other Christians answer - thanks for asking this question!

Answer #7

Obediance. . . God requires our obediance.

Answer #8

To put it simply, I think we need to dedicate our lives to God and live humbly for Him. We must do everything for God’s glory, and to represent God.

P.S. I like you question, and its good too ask about these things.
