Why is sunblock famous in USA and Europe but not here in tropical countries with intense sun ray?

Answer #1

because (not trying to be rasist) people who live in areas like that most of the time have darker skin. People with darker skin have more melonine in there skin to soke up the sun and they do not get burned as easy as people with lighter skin do, so sun block isnt really needed in most cases.

Answer #2

Good question. It could be because the people in those areas have darker skin. Also I know that in my country (south africa) where it is really hot, sunblock is promoted, but because we have so much sun, most people don’t really spend all day outside in the heat because they know that they will get burned. I still think that it needs to be promoted, I just think that people don’t see it as important if they don’t really get sunburn.

Answer #3

I fear sun like cat hates water. It gets my skin burned. My pale brown skin has become dark brown

Answer #4

I would think this would be obvious? Because they have darker skin? I grew up in Africa, never got burned a day in my life. Never used sun screen. I think it is harder for darker skin to get sunburn.
