Do microwave rays hurt female reproduction?

I was told that if a female stands in front of a microwave(with door open or closed) that she loses her ability to reproduce(have babies) because of the gamma rays from the microwave that could be harmful.

Answer #1

total myth…the microwave particles from an oven are for heating and do not harm you if the door is open and your standing next to it…X Rays can though…thats the reason you keep a lead sheet over your groin

Answer #2

I heard that as well its the matter of rediation caused by the microwave, but its never been proven as a fact.

Answer #3

Myth. The same has been said about talking onthe cell phone too much and I’ve heard it 4 men and women. Not True

Answer #4

The most dangerous kind of radiation is ionizing radation. Ionizing radation is energetic enough to change molecules. X-rays and gamma rays are ionizing radation. Microwaves are not. Microwaves can still cause tissue damage but they are not nearly as dangerous as ionizing radation. Some microwave ovens do leak a small amount of microwave radation. Because of this some people say it is prudent to stand at least a arm length away from them while they in operation.

It is certainly possible for radiation to render someone sterile but a properly functioning microwave oven will not produce the kind or intensity of radation that could do this.

Answer #5

Thank you both. a lot

Answer #6

no, it pretty sure thats a myth. you cant loose your fertility from a microwave. but you can in other ways. things like having chlamidya and not getting it treated lower your chances, as well as exessive smoking and drinking. but no, not the microwave
