Slowing down metabolism?

Ok..I have this diet that works and it starts with 3 protein days for initiation and then it starts. The problem is, by the time I get to the 3rd protein day I pig out and it’s just really bad and then I do the protein days again because I gained so much weight on that 3rd day pig out. Does that slow down my metabolism like a whole lot? I’m eating 5-6 times a day to keep it going but I think it’s just really bad with the pig outs and I don’t wanna make my metabolism really slow.

Hi,

Your metabolism will be slowed if you skip eating. So by denying yourself food and nutrition, your body thinks it’s in a famine and slows down, thereby effectively suspending your metabolism. However, eating high protein diet is not unhealthy. It can be an effective way of losing weight – if you stop the binging.
