girlfriend won't let go of previous relationship

My girlfriend and I have been dating for six months, she still wants a relationship with her ex-girlfriends baby and still wants to see her from time to time. I say she is holding on the a past relationship that she can’t admit is over. The baby just turned a year old last month, she says because she was there when they found out she was pregant and throught the pregency and she was also there when her girlfriend delivered the baby that’s why she is attached, I say let go of the past and move on what should I do?

If I understand you well, this is a lesbic triangel, you, your current girlfriend and her ex-girlfriend who has a baby. Everyone is felmale :)) I understand that your girlfriend feels a little bit like the baby’s second mother. This is absolute normal. Living together with an other female who is bearing an embryo produces a strong bond between them, different than love or similar. Even, this can inhibit the love. What I do not understand is that why you do not join this company. You can have a lot of fun toghether. Ok, not allways but time to time you could accompany your g/f when visiting the ex-g/f, or you may initiate to invite the ex-g/f into your home, etc..friendship is always better than grudge.

letting go of children is often much harder then letting go of the parent. If you have involvement with the child too i don’t see a problem with her having a relationship with the child, however the child won’t miss her at this point if she were to walk away, so it’s kind of a toss up to me =/
