Science and God

How can science prove that God does not exist?Does any one remember the incident of Noah and his arc. Many of the pieces of the ship have been found and science has also proven that a flood had occured thousands of years ago which covered the whole earth. So science has proven the presence of God! THIS TIME ONLY THOSE ANSWER WHO BELIEVE IN GOD!

Answer #1

shakes head

…there seems to be a pattern of stupidity…

Answer #2

“we came from monkeys. THAT’S A BUNCH OF BULL. “

Well, yes. Nobody claims “we came from a bunch of monkeys” - evolution states that the great apes and humans have a common ancestor. But your sophisticated criticism of a well-supported scientific theory is noted. Where did you get your biology PhD?

“JESUS MAKE THIS WORLD. “

If I’ve read the bible right, Jesus wasn’t around until much later.

“I DIDN’T COME OUT OF NO MONKEY NO ONE DID MY GOD MADE ME WHEN I WAS INSIDE MY MOTHERS WOMB”

I hate to break it to you, but your ‘creation’ in your mother’s womb has a much more mundane explanation. Some time, ask your dad where babies come from.

Answer #3

a flood does not “prove” god no more than a wooden boat proves noah existed unless your stupid enough to beleive two of every single animal in the world could fit inside a boat, and were from walking distance from noahs house and science and god have nothing to do with each other religious people dont add anything about science to there beleifs so asking a christian about this is not going to get you any answers worth reading unless you like to beleive everything you hear science and “god” are two completly different things they have nothing to do with each other

Answer #4

Jonothan, can you give any citations to the peer-reviewed scientific papers which speak to the evidence of which you are speaking?

And by attempting to limit responses to Theists only are you suggesting censorship of those who are not?

Answer #5

“I BELIEVE IN GOD AND I BELIEVE THAT SCIENCE WILL NVER BE ABLE TO EXPLAIN AWAY CHRISTIANITY.”

I don’t think science will ever explain why people jump to conclusions and type messages ALL IN CAPITALS complaining about things that never happened, either.

“JUST HAVE FAITH IN YOUR HEART THAT THE LORD IS THE TRUTH”

Which one? There are lots of competing faiths, and they all claim to be true.

“ITS LIKE DUDE WHAT THE HELL HAS GOD EVER DONE TO YOU.”

Nothing, which is why I think she probably doesn’t exist.

“WHY GO OUT OF YOUR WAY TO PUT DOWN SOMEONE’S RELIGION. JUDGEMENTAL JERKS!!!”

Excuse me? Who here did that?

Answer #6

I BELIEVE IN GOD AND I BELIEVE THAT SCIENCE WILL NVER BE ABLE TO EXPLAIN AWAY CHRISTIANITY. MY ADVICE IS JUST GIVE UP ON TRYING TO FIND EVIDENCE OF GOD FOR THOSE WHO DONT BELIEVE AND JUST HAVE FAITH IN YOUR HEART THAT THE LORD IS THE TRUTH. SOME ATHEIST ARE SOOO HATEFUL… ITS LIKE DUDE WHAT THE HELL HAS GOD EVER DONE TO YOU. WHY GO OUT OF YOUR WAY TO PUT DOWN SOMEONE’S RELIGION. JUDGEMENTAL JERKS!!!

Answer #7

*Many of the pieces of the ship have been found

If that were true, don’t you think it’d get more press than the Tut exhibit? Ron Wyatt, the guy who claimed to have found it, was proven a fraud.

* and science has also proven that a flood had occured thousands of years ago which covered the whole earth.

“science” has shown no such thing. You really need to consider sources other than just your cult. They’re filling your head with nonsense and lies.

Answer #8

There are those who are: blind, who refuse to see and those whose hearts have waxed cold - could never be convinced - fate sealed.

Answer #9

Ok what difference does that make? Its still rather insulting. Your in a forum what did you expect? Besides even if Noah’s Ark was discovered there know way of knowing if it happened the way the bible said. Maybe the flood was regional but it seemed like the whole world to them. Who’s to say someone on the boat wrote that story anyway. Verbal/oral stories have. Way of getting distorted. There for it still wouldn’t prove God.

Answer #10

Not to pick any sides, but historical events have been correlated with some stories in the Bible.

Yes, the Bible does sometimes reference actual historical people and events. However a global flood and the story of Noah’s Ark are not among those.

The story of Noah’s Ark defies all logic and science, and is obviously mythical nonsense.

Answer #11

Then why is it mentioned in The Holy Book?Just think that those who believe that the holy books were written by humans do not know that at the time when the flood occured,it swept away all humans except those who were in the Arc then how come the incident could have been written by the humans?

Answer #12

No. no one has found a confirmed piece of Noah’s ark. No Global flood evidence has been found in the past 6000 years. Which is how old the bible says the earth is. The only global flood we have found evidence for was long before humans. We know that the Noah story probly originated from a legend in egypt. The Nile always over flows each year but I bad year a man put all his possessions on a barge and flowed up and down the Nile.

Why do people make up “facts” to try to push their believes.

I’m not saying you did but you were told this stuff by someone that lied to you. Please send me a link for an article or study from a reputable source of a global flood or noah’s ark found. They think they found possibly sites but no confirmation.

Another question. Why do you ask a question that deserves a view from all sides and then say only believers?

Answer #13

I beleve in God I mean I wont lie an tell you I go t church every sunday, but I do pray everynight before I go to sleep and some other times too.

Answer #14

Since many people argue!

Answer #15

big bang. evolution. we came from monkeys. THAT’S A BUNCH OF BULL. JESUS MAKE THIS WORLD. I DIDN’T COME OUT OF NO MONKEY NO ONE DID MY GOD MADE ME WHEN I WAS INSIDE MY MOTHERS WOMB AND GOD MADE ME A PURPOSE FOR ME ON THIS EARTH AND…THAT’S WHAT I’M ALWAYS GONNA BELIEVE.

Answer #16

“”WHY GO OUT OF YOUR WAY TO PUT DOWN SOMEONE’S RELIGION. JUDGEMENTAL JERKS!!!””

uh. We were answering a question not putting down anyone. Your the one that resorted to name calling

“”ITS LIKE DUDE WHAT THE HELL HAS GOD EVER DONE TO YOU”” refer to Arachnid

Answer #17

sorry, you dont get to pick who answers your question…

So you think that everyone in the last couple of thousands of years came from one family? Through what? Noah’s kids all marrying each other? Not to mention the incest problem (can you imagine the genetic mutations), but one family repopulated the entire planet? In a couple of generations? and then in that time, some how people changed skin colors, hair colors and all their features, started speaking different languages, wearing different clothes, and eating different foods? all of this in the last 6000 years? and science has proven there was a global flood that did all this? wow, you’d think it would be bigger news, but since I havent heard of it, care to actually cite your sources?

oh and I believe in God, probably not the same concept of God, but you didnt specify which God I had to believe in

Answer #18

Not to pick any sides, but historical events have been correlated with some stories in the Bible. However, it still doesn’t prove that God exists. The people who went through these events in the past might have thought that it was happening because of God (perhaps because they couldn’t find any other reason to explain a giant flood, for example), but it still doesn’t give concrete proof of the existence of a God.

Answer #19

Uhm, you are not making sense. (I believe in Zeus by the way.) Just as mysterywolf said, “…historical events have been correlated with some stories in the Bible. However, it still doesn’t prove that God exists. The people who went through these events in the past might have thought that it was happening because of God…”

“Then why is it mentioned in The Holy Book?” It’s like asking why any of the naturals disasters are mentioned anywhere at all. Maybe because it’s important? Like, if there was a tsunami that destroyed one third of a certain country, it’s kind of logical to write that donw, no? Wonder if I’m making sense…

“at the time when the flood occured,it swept away all humans except those who were in the Arc then how come the incident could have been written by the humans?”

Hello~ “all humans EXCEPT those who were in the Arc”. You just answered your own question. But, realy, I as long as at least someone survived, it’s kind of obvious that they could write about that event having occured… and I highly doubt it killing absolutely everything, leaving only a few humans allive. And did humans even exist when that heppened? Since I’m not very familiar with that event(the flood). But assuming that you could actually build a boat that big to fit all spicies of animals, insects etc is kind of.. silly? That’s pretty much impossible. And you wouldn’t be able to take care of all the animals anyway. So it’s logical to assume that none of that happened(besied the flood, I guess.) Also, how could he possibly gather all those spicies of animals from all around the globe?

Answer #20

Jonathan: “I stated in my question that I don’t want non believers!”

If you want to limit your discussion to only Christians you should join a Christian group or start one of our own.

As far as your question about science goes, Science can not prove God does not exist. Science only deals with topics that are testable with the scientific method. The existance of realms and entities outside our material world is not testable therefore any theories are by definition non-scientific.

People by nature (believers and skeptics alike) tend to accept evidence that seems to back up their worldview and reject that which does not. People do try to prove and disprove God with science but this is a futile pursuit. Sometimes believers to make scientific claims based on their own worldview and these may be testable but science can not prove or disprove the big question.

Answer #21

Just think that those who believe that the holy books were written by humans do not know that at the time when the flood occured,it swept away all humans except those who were in the Arc

Yeah… the story has been heard by most. They usually start hearing that story around age 5.

then how come the incident could have been written by the humans?

Do you simply NOT KNOW much about the Bible? Even the Bible ITSELF says it was written by people. SEVERAL people over several years.

And you just want people who agree with you to answer? Well… TOUGH! Grow up. Don’t ask questions in a public forum, if you don’t want REAL answers. You’ve shown yourself to be TOTALLY ignorant regarding scripture AND science; and you’ve repeatedly made claims that are totally FALSE. You’ve also shown yourself to be totally incapable of defending, or at least justifying your opinions.

So why are you even here? Do you actually want to LEARN something? Or do you just have question, and want to hear your OWN answers?

Answer #22

“How can science prove that God does not exist?”

It can’t. As a general rule, you can’t prove a negative. But nobody’s proven Zeus doesn’t exist, or that fairies aren’t at the bottom of your garden - but you probably don’t believe in those, either.

“Does any one remember the incident of Noah and his arc. Many of the pieces of the ship have been found”

No they haven’t. People have found what they claim are pieces of the ark, but archaeological evidence doesn’t support them.

“and science has also proven that a flood had occured thousands of years ago which covered the whole earth.”

No it hasn’t. There’s no geological record of a global flood.

“So science has proven the presence of God!”

Even if everything you said was true, it wouldn’t prove the existence of god - yours or any other. It would only prove that there was a boat, and a big flood.

“THIS TIME ONLY THOSE ANSWER WHO BELIEVE IN GOD!”

Why are you asking questions about science, then trying to restrict the answers to people who believe in god? If it’s a scientific question, belief doesn’t come into it.

Answer #23

Might I first state, what is there to disprove? There is no prove stating that God is real. As for the bible, again, what is there to disprove, a bunch of fairytales conjured up from the hollow mind of some unintillectual being who probably has the brain capacity of a modern day 9 year old? Not a problem Besides, what’s the point? We can prove undeniable evidence & you’ld still refuse to open your mind to the fact that the bible just might be wrong.

“THIS TIME ONLY THOSE ANSWER WHO BELIEVE IN GOD!” You’re asking how science can disprove God, I doubt people who believe in your biblical god will answer that. I really don’t see the point in you asking this question if you’re going to limit the question to only the people you know will support you.

They have pictures of an object that looks like an arc, but no substantial evidence. They can’t get close enough to take a clear picture. Yes there was a great flood, there were many, but none that flooded the entire earth. A global flood would leave undeniable evidence. There is none.

According to the bible, donkey’s can talk. Strike one

According to the bible, the earth is only around 6,000 years old. According to carbon dating, there’s creatures billions of years old, strike two.

Exodus, yeah that’s a load of bull. The Hebrews didn’t live as people in Egypt, nor was their culture developed there either. Evidence indicates the Hebrew culture developed in the Canaanite highlands around 1300 BCE. Strike three.

Here’s a challenge for you, instead of us proving the bible wrong, how about you, the one claiming it to be true, prove that the bible is indeed fact. Or actually, prove fairies & unicorns don’t exist. There’s claims of people seeing them. There in books all around the world. There’s so many stories the must be true. Or even disprove “Cat in the Hat”. Cats can wear hats. & Some cats can talk. In fact mine actually calls me an @$$hole when I give her a bath(funny part is, I’m not making this up XD).

Answer #24

Agrees with Captain & arachid

possmoss, what reasons do you have for your conviction? & you do realize the big bang isn’t the only scientific theory of creation. I myself believe in the claps theory. Our universe was created from 2 parrellel universes. But that’s the theory in which I choose to believe. When yo think of it the big bang is just as tangable if not more so than a being apearing from no where & creating everything. & here’s a question, why would there only be ine god? because the bible says so? Sry to break it to you but bibical scholars believe the bible to contain 2 different gods. The orginal christains, or gnostic christins, as well as jews, gnostic jews, actually worshiped varies gods. So really the christian religion is not much different than the religion of ancient romans who believed in Zues & varies other Gods. Well actually there is a huge different. The biblical ones teach religous intolerance & stunts individual growth.
