Raccoon?

Okay. So this raccoon was in a tree during the day. Plain view, a healthy tree and everything. The tree didn’t have anything where it could go inside and stuff and sleep till night time. I shot the thing. 22 luger, really bad to shoot one up in the tree but I hit it, that’s beside the point. The question would be, a raccoon out in the day time? Fully awake and in a tree… That’s some sort of disease right? I mean they are nocturnal and they only venture out at night unless they have some kind of illness right? This was a fully grown one. O_O

  2. call animals control before shooting it
  3. NOW call animal control to pick it up so they can take the head and test for rabies.

Animal control? LMFAO. Here in the country we don’t use animal control. We just kill it and then burn the body. simple and easy.

Sorry to rain on the parade but just because it was out during the day does not mean it was sick. Raccoons do on occasion forage for food during the day, especially a female that has babies.

And I shot it. therefore it’s obviously dead. I didn’t have enough time to burn the thing, just grabbed a pair of gloves and threw it in the woods of our 215 acre farm. If anything else gets it… flashes gun Ya get it? ;)

A lot of Racoons go out in day time…:/ And most of them are healthy… Poor racoon): Well. It good that you got rid of it if it DID have it…but that’s still sad.

normally a racoon out during the day means it has rabies…and a racoon with rabies is dangerous.
