Pulled over for no reason

I was headed back home from picking my man up from work when a cop pulled me over for no reason. He came to the window asked me foe my driver license and they were suspended I know I was wrong for drivin but isn’t that one of their amendments they cannot pull over without reason? When I asked him all he said was driving on suspended license. Is there a way I can fight this and win? If so should I get a lawyer and what kind of lawyer?

Answer #1

first of all I dont know what state your in, but all you people that have answered are wrong. you can not be pulled over for that because there is no way of the cop knowing who is actually driving the vehicle. in that case if you have a vehicle that is registered to you and you have no license and your friend is driving then what right does he have to pull your friend over? he doesn’t. refer to the superior court ruling in the case of the commonwealth vs. joel d. baily.

Shreck,

There is nothing that she can fight. She is going to waste her money. She was in the wrong and had a suspended licence, there is nothing ANY lawyer could do about that one.

Answer #3

If it’s going to be something that’ll be on your record or’ll cost you a bunch of money then I’d fight it. I REALLY don’t like cops … Always asserting their power

Answer #4

he didnt pull you over for no reason, he ran your plate saw you were suspended and pulled you over, sometimes they just run plates, it happened to me when I was suspended, get a lawyer? no, you were wrong just let it go

Answer #5

accept you were in the wrong, and deal with it from that perspective. be an adult.

Answer #6

If he was behind you while driving he could of ran your plates and already of known that you have a suspended license. If that happened then no there is nothing you can do.

Answer #7

Was it your own car that you were driving?

An officer can run a license plate check and match the owner of the car to their license. It would show him that your license was suspended and that gives him the right to pull you over.

If the car belonged to someone else, he could pull you over based on suspicion. For example, if the car is registered to John Smith, and the officer sees a female driving it, there’s cause to think it could be stolen.

Police need only “reasonable suspicion” to pull you over.

Answer #8

You can’t fight it, getting a lawyer would be a waste of money because you would just come off looking like a dumb teenager.

Cops can pull you over for whatever the want. He could have ran your license plate, and that’s how he found out your license was suspended. In that case, he had every right to pull you over.

Just pay the ticket and deal with your licence, it’s easier than fighting a battle your going to lose.

Answer #9

HE DIDNT PULL you OVER FOR NO REASON.. HE RAN THE TAG AND FOUND SOMETHING
