how can you prevent or lessen the times someone sleep walks?

ummm… tie them down to the bed perhapse? - I’d say use duck tape or rope! haha

Honestly speaking however, if you suffer from sleepwalking it may mean one out of 3 things - either you don’t have a good amount of sleep, you have been stressing over something, or you trigger your mind with a type of alerting stimulation before you sleep (eg. violent video games, horrifying news…)

If sleep walking is an ongoing issue you face, consolting a doctor may be a good idea. I’ve had a friend who was perscribed pills for it once and it worked within a month for her.

No worries!! But if the case is your daughter, and if she’s a young one… to be on the safe side, you may want to “safe proof” her room. Make sure there are no sharp objects on the floor she can step on, lock all windows and doors, make sure she sleeps on a floored level of the house - away from stairs. May be safe to sleep in the same room with her where you can keep a safe eye before you consult a doctor.

I will try sleepin in her room, she is on the second floor, that’s where all the bedrooms are, I kinda want a ranch style house but they are to small for my family. I do appreciate the suggestions
