What do you think of the new "Potty Patch", is it worth getting?

The potty patch is some sort of mat, that looks like grass. It’s for your pets to use the bathroom on, instead of on your floors.

Does this product actually work, and is it worth getting? If you have one, and can give me some information and your opinion on it…that would be great. If not, your still welcome to post your opinion.

it depends what type of pet you have. My cats would NEVER use it in a million years, we switched the litter box one time and they hated it. I think just training the animal to go in a litter box would be ideal, its easier to clean and it looks way more sanitary than one of the potty patches. I think its just another gimmick, they come out with a new one every month.

I think it’s a good idea to use one before you teach the dog or cat to go outside, let’s face it, when youre training a dog to go outside they’re not going to get it right away, training them to first go on the mat, then to go outside, and then taking the mat away so they continue to just go to the door and let you know when they have to go for them on. Using it as a permanent bathroom for them probably isnt what it’s for.

I’m not very fond of them - I don’t think dogs should be trained to ‘go’ on anything inside of a house. I think they should be trained that outside is the only area they can go. It’s too confusing for them to go everywhere. Not to mention, you’ll constantly need to clean it because they will use that instead of going out.

I don’t like dogs doing their business in the house….PERIOD! If you get one, and they actually use it…I’d think you just got lucky. They never learn to go outside, tho….
