Could my new puppy get sick if it has it's first set of shots?

I just adopted a 10 week old puppy from the spca today and I wont be able to get her until thursday because she is getting spayed but the question is we had a puppy about 5 to 4 months ago we got out of the news paper for free and he had no shots I no bad on our part but he ended up getting sick after a month after we got him and he ended up passing away but we did not no if he had parvo or distemper or just got sick we were never sure but he was never registered or anything so I wanted to no now that I have one with is first set of shots and it gets more on march 2nd around there if she could get sick? but we bleached everything got new everything for the new dog and she is an inside dog we wont let her out or anything until she is older and has her shots? so do you guys think that anything would happen to her?

He still needs the rest of his shots…to have total immunity. I never take a puppy anywhere at all, but my own yard, until he’s got at least the first two of the series…

The killer diseases are Parvo and distemper. Parvo is passed via feces, and therefore a pup can pick it up walking anywhere that the a carrier has pooped…or where another dog has walked and carried it. To protect your pup, just make sure that ALL the shots are given…don’t skimp…

Also, I’d take him to Vet for a puppy check the day I picked him up. That is a standard procedure by most people who get a new dog.
